The only contact with staff being when patients drop off or collect their
medicines - the friendly and polite checking of name, address and date
of birth or confirmation that patients are aware of how to take and store
their medication.
The waiting room environment is not conducive to a long wait. Short of natural light with 25 institutionally comfortable chairs (plus 4 for children), some copies of Private Eye and Heat magazine, displays of information leaflets, a blank TV and a large painting of flowers in vases. Many ring the bell twice, drop off their prescription and choose to return another day or retire to the café for half an hour.
