MI very much believes in sharing of knowledge and the section works with other
departments and hospitals to provide information proactively as well as the
reactive aspect of telephone or e-mail enquiries. The information is about evidence-based
medicine and is based on a growing body of knowledge about medicines rather
than assumed knowledge or the illnesses and complaints that the drug is addressing.
As with the other sections visited so far specialist language is plentiful - drug interactions, drug reactions, pharmaceutical excipients, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, bioavailability, clearance, steady-state, contra-indications, and posology.
